The American Heart Association is celebrating their 100th year anniversary in 2024! Homestead Funding helped celebrate this incredible birthday by participating in the Capital Region Heart Walk and Run on June 2 at the W. Averell Harriman State Office Campus, marking our nearly 25 years of support for the organization. The Heart Walk and Run serves as the American Heart Association’s lead fundraiser event for research and education regarding heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular health.
The American Heart Association was founded in 1924 by six cardiologists, making AHA the oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Since its founding, they’ve invested more than $5 billion in research, making them the largest not-for-profit funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research.
